Most of the way to Lechlade garden centre we seemed to have a nice tail wind which meant that we made good progress. There was a slight change of route just after Shrivenham taking a more scenic route to Coleshill and avoiding Highworth town centre. Coleshill was probably the steepest hill of the day - the route being fairly flat. We were able to sit outside at the garden centre and enjoy the usual coffee, tea & cakes. On the way back we had the wind against us and although it was fairly flat, until the climb to Buckland, it was quite hardwork compared with the route out. No punctures or mechanical problems to report. Only one incident being a front wheel clipped the rear wheel of a rider. A hairy moment but thankfully did not result in an accident. Well saved by the rider! Arrived back at 5.00 pm having covered 45 miles. | ||
