Saturday afternoon ride from Grove 2*
Leader:
David Smith
Start Time:
1:00 pm
Start Location:
OMH
Description:
50km (32 miles) afternoon ride, with a tea stop, at a riding pace of ~18km/h (11-13mph).

A ride out to Aston Pottery seemed in order and I fancied trying Buckland Hill. That's the only real climb on the route and we'll take that at the pace of the group.

Please have lights on your bike just in case.

Weather:
black low cloud
Report:
18 riders, what a fantastic turnout for the ride! Welcome to Lizzie on her first ride with CTC Wantage.

Apart from some confusion (on the leaders part) about how we were going to cross the A420 the ride to Aston Pottery went very well with a slight headwind heading in to Aston itself.

Aston Pottery was as good as usual and the cake of the day, Chocolate & Guinness seemed to go down very well with the group :)

Good ride back along Great Brook and up Buckland Hill. Steve Swanton left us at Charney Bassett to do a few more miles, Ashley & Cathy also headed for home in Charney Bassett and Brian went his own way in denchworth.
Distance:
48.92 km (30.40 mi)
