Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly. (Well a bit hilly)

Almost to Lambourn and back. Out to Wantage along the Denchworth Road, then along the Ickleton Road to Childrey crossroads. Left and up Hackpen Hill, then down towards Lambourn. Just before the village, sharp right, back up to The Ridgeway, then down Blowingstone Hill to Kingston Lisle, and down again to Baulking Lane. Then home to Grove, via Goosey and Denchworth. Lots of downhill and non-hilly bits.

Report:
A perfect evening for taking in the views of The Downs and The Thames Valley. A small group, we cheerily took on the climbs and descents at a leisurely pace. So leisurely we were chased down the hill from Sparsholt Firs by the off-road ride; our first of three encounters with them.

The gentle climb back up to The Ridgeway didn't seem to phase anyone, and everyone managed to stop at the bottom of Blowingstone Hill.

Once back in the vale, the temperature started to drop a little, so a chilly ride leader tried to up the pace a little. The group would not be coaxed, nor was there any Denchworth Dash, but Hey Ho, it wasn't a race, after all.

Thanks to all who turned out, and to Des for sweeping; again!

35.50 km (22.06 mi)
