Report:A wonderful afternoon for cycling, although a somewhat "select" group of 4 of us set out, meandering through Wantage and out towards Lockinge. Maybe everybody was at barbecues....On the path out of Wantage we met Brian who was coming the other way. Turns out had intended to join us at Grove, but was extra "prompt" - ie was there for a 1pm start and thought we had gone! So, 4 became 5 and we continued, via the cunning cut through from West to East Hendred, and on to the well earned tea stop (by definition - always well earned). Nice and relaxed, we did not leave Q Gardens until 4pm, so was nearly five when back - the gentle meander back via the Hanneys had followed a "bit fast for one star" pace across Cow Common from Steventon, but Cow Lane is perhaps not the best road to dawdle on, so maybe no bad thing (ie - Ride leader pleading forgiveness for going to fast!) I enjoyed the ride, a lovely relaxed one in the sunshine. Thanks all for your company. | ||
