Description:Monthly 45-55km (30-40 miles) afternoon ride, with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph).The plan is to head south onto the Downs and descend into Lambourn . We'll cycle down the Lambourn valley through the picturesque villages of Eastbury, East Garston, and Great Shefford as far as Boxford, from where we'll turn north to head back over the Downs. Tea stop at the Saddleback Farm shop towards the end of the ride. After a brief climb back up to Farnborough, there is the wonderful descent of Chain hill to enjoy. A round trip of about 35 miles, a chance to tackle some hills at your own pace, with time to enjoy the views. |
