Description: Now in it's 3rd year of running, this popular but tough 100km audax is organised by CTC Wantage. Note the event is run under Audax UK regulations and there is a [small] fee payable if you want to ride. While we will accept entries on the day, it would help enormously if you can pre-enter via the Audax UK website [see link below], and pay via PayPal. That way, you also receive the route description ahead of time and can prepare, and we can ensure there is enough cake at the finish for everyone! Sixty-six riders started [only six no-shows]. Only four failed to finish – due to a mix of mechanicals, exhaustion and getting lost [no Wantage riders!]. Tremendous thanks to Clan Talbot [for HQ assistance], Chris Walters and Des Higgs [for manning the Marlborough control], Kath for excellent catering, and Richard Pethybridge who rode the event after putting out most of the tables at the start. Chapeau! Feedback from riders was unanimously positive: this event certainly helps us showcase Wantage cycling and some of the best countryside the Vale has to offer. We will be making donations to Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Flexicare from the surplus money. Mark your calendars for 14 May 2017!
