Tuesday Evening 3* Ride | 3* |
---|
Leader:Jon Townsin |
Start Time:6:30 pm |
Start Location:OMH |
Description:Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly. ***UPPER BRIDGING RIDE***This is the second of our Bridging Ride series designed to help those who would like to progress to the next level of cycling. As such it will be ridden at the higher end of the pace range. If you like climbing, this is for you! Blowingstone Hill is one of our classic climbs and acts as the centrepiece for this ride at the higher end of the range. Often run in a clockwise loop, this ride takes the opposite direction so we'll be going up Blowingstone rather than down it! A fast trip out through the vale will take us to the first climb to Kingston Lisle from where (after a brief breath) we'll head up the Blowingstone climb. Once regrouped at the top we'll be rewarded by a lovely descent into Lambourn and a longish climb back over the Ridgeway and back via the Letcombes. Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly. Secondary Ride Leader TBA |

The long climb back up to the top of Hackpen Hill suited some very well and I even managed to carry on a conversation during the slog! The air was positively cooling by the time we got into the Letcombes and as riders began to peel off homeward I think we all had a pretty good evening's exercise Thanks to Jane for sweeping and Eddie for being ready to take up the secondary ride leader's mantle. Luckily a combination of heat and climbing meant that wasn't necessary | ||
