Climbing almost inevitable.WEATHER UPDATE 15 May: The weather is not looking promising for Sunday and we will take a final decision on the ride by 8.30 on Sunday morning. If the weather is wet but rideable, our current Plan B is to do a half day ride with one stop (either Coleshill or Stanford-in-the-Vale) that has plenty of places we can quickly return to Wantage from, see: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36038877 Hopefully there will be no need to cancel the ride altogether. NB ride updated on 9/5/21: A relatively flat, 100km all day ride. Along the Springline and out to Highworth before taking some lovely roads (and almost roads) to Fairford. An early stop for takeaway from Lynwood before heading up to pretty villages before making our way back via Aston Pottery for a second stop and thence to Wantage. Expect to be back mid-afternoon. |

Report:After watching the weather forecast over the last few days and, at one time, being doubtful that we would even get to ride at all it was great to wake up to blue sky and sunshine. We had a couple of showers during the ride, but otherwise good weather. The scenery was beautiful - thank you Kath for the route. It was a good tempered group throughout the ride and it was great to catch up with some people I hadn't seen for ages. It was also good to get the first 100k ride in for this year (for me at least). Thank you everyone for being such a good group to ride with. | ||
