Description:This is a pre-bookable ride only. To book your place please text the ride leader no sooner than the Monday before the ride.Based on the route of Kath's 3* ride starting from Wantage at the same time, here is a 2* alternative, for those who would enjoy a full-days riding but at a steadier, 2* pace (11-13mph). With a few route tweaks to start from Grove, this is a 100km ride with a few ups and downs (but no major challenges), taking in some of the prettiest villages and quiet lanes through the Cotswolds. We'll have an early lunchtime stop in Fairford with takeaways available at the Lynwood Cafe and a second stop at Aston Pottery on the way home. Expect to be back in Grove around 4:30pm. WEATHER UPDATE 15 May: The weather is not looking promising for Sunday and we will take a final decision on the ride by 8.30 on Sunday morning. If the weather is wet but rideable, Plan B for the 2* ride is to do a half-day ride following the planned route towards Highworth then turning back for a stop at Coleshill. The route also provides options to return to Grove earlier. Hopefully there will be no need to cancel the ride altogether. Fingers crossed! |
