Riders:Barry EastwoodDes Higgs Ginny Henderson Jo Bindloss-Gibb Pat Hurt Philip Thornton-Evison Steve Swanton Riders = 7 Report:This ride didn't quite work out as planned....I waited in the wrong place at Grove for the outward leg, decided to head out to lunch anyway and by chance met up with the group coming towards me at Cothill. Pat was killing time with a loop around the airfield as we were going to arrive too early at the pub. Just as well for me though... The King's Arms at Sandford lock was closed for refurbishment, the next pub didn't do Sunday lunch and the third looked grotty. So we headed southwards to the Baldons. Alas the Mole was busy until 3:30 and the Seven Stars was also closed. So we settled for Nottcuts on the Golden balls roundabout and a late, alcohol-free lunch. We returned via Sutton Courtney, Culham, Abingdon and Peep-o-day lane (yes 400 yards as the crow flies), Drayton, Steventon, the Hendreds and Ginge. It was a lovely Autumn afternoon and an enjoyable ride. Steve S | ||
