Description:Monthly 80-100km (50-65 miles) all-day touring ride, lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing almost inevitable. Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader.Another trip up and around on the downs as seems the best option for avoiding the floods. A tad over 40k but quite hilly. Please note later start time |

Report:Given weather conditions, (still some flooding and forecast cold temperatures) I had decided a few days earlier to switch to a shorter ride.The later start paid off as it had warmed up (well compared to first thing) and we were delighted to actually see some sunshine which went someway to negating the chilly wind. Although we had shortened the ride there was lots of climbing (about 700m) but we concluded it was worth it for the spectacular views. Road conditions were actually good on the whole and we were incident free. Great to see Elliott back cycling with us and Thanks to everyone for joining. | ||
