Saturday 2* All-Day Ride to Eynsham and Witney 2*
Leader:
Steve Swanton
Start Time:
9:30 am
Start Location:
Old Mill Hall
Description:
An all-day 50-mile ride at 2* pace (18-20km/h; 11-13mph) to extend our range into less familiar territory and as part of the progression for riders who wish to build up to the Oxfordshire Tri-vets Century ride at the end of June. A relatively flat route but with some lumpy bits in the middle!
We'll head north to Eynsham for coffee at the Cherry Tree cafe before a loop through the Hanboroughs, Combe, Stonesfield and North Leigh. We'll drop into Witney for lunch at Cogges Manor Farm.
We'll leave Witney by a scenic path alongside Witney Lakes then on to Ducklington and Cote. There's a final climb back into the vale from Tadpole Bridge to Buckland then a roll home via Stanford and Park Lane. A distance of just under 52 miles taken at a steady 2* pace.
To gauge numbers, please let me know by text beforehand if you are planning to come.
