Chairman’s Newsletter number 2 – November 2018

Posted on December 5th, 2018

Hello everyone

A few extra details for you on upcoming events:

Two things to say about this, in addition to the basis info on the last email:

Firstly, thanks very much to all those who have already dropped off donations of mince pies, red wine and cranberry/raspberry juice. Please keep them coming – there is a box waiting for you in the porch at:

Evergreen, Main Street
Grove Wantage
OX12 7JF

Secondly, I have a bit of an apology – I’m afraid we got organised too late with the pub lunch idea, and we can’t get the space for a sufficiently large group. We have decided to write that off to experience and so it won’t happen this year. Of course last year it was all planned and then got snowed off anyway, so you never know… But, talking of pleasant pub social events –

One of our new Committee members, Stephanie Haddrell, has very kindly taken the lead in organising this. The details are as follows:

Venue – The Fox and Hounds in Uffington.
Date – Saturday 9th February
Time: 7 for 7.30

The specific menu will not be available until after Christmas as we understand they will be putting together a new menu, however you can look at this link to see what sort of food is on offer:

Can you please contact Stephanie to reserve a place and let her know of any particular dietary requirements? Email address is It would be good to have an idea of numbers this side of Christmas, places are limited to 35 so please book early to avoid disappointment!

I think that’s all for now. Happy cycling!
