Chairman’s Newsletter 2 – March 2020

Posted on March 17th, 2020

Hello everyone

As promised, we have been in contact with Cycling UK HQ about COVID-19 and I’m afraid it is no surprise that we now have official direction to cancel our entire rides programme until further notice.

Many of you will have received an email from the CEO of Cycling UK, Paul Tuohy, giving the official line that we have to stop all club runs and social events. Here are the relevant links on the Cycling UK website:

We should note that we remain convinced of the physical and mental health benefits to each of us of regular cycling, and for the time being we see no problem at all with individuals getting out and enjoying that.

This is a sad day and I am sorry to have to give such news. But – the club isn’t going away and at some point soon we will simply pick up where we left off and get back to what we love doing.

Best regards
John
