Chairman’s Newsletter – July 2020

Posted on July 25th, 2020

Dear all

Whilst the strange times continue, it has been great to see many of you either passing whilst cycling on the roads or virtually on the various video sessions that have been going on. The Committee met yesterday evening (on Zoom) and discussed the possibility of resuming club group rides. We remain cautious, but we have established that at least a proportion of our Ride Leaders are up for leading group rides, in line with all of the relevant regulations. We are clear that this would mean a maximum of six riders, 2m minimum social distancing on rides and with pre-booking of rides. Having established that, we feel it is important as the next step to see what you all feel about taking part in a group ride under these conditions.

Therefore, Jon Townsin has put together a short and simple online questionnaire so we can gather your views. The link is here.

It will literally take you just a few seconds to respond – I really encourage as many of you as possible to do so in order for us to plan what programme might be feasible for the rest of the summer (which is rushing by remarkably fast!). For this reason, we are setting a deadline for replies of the end of this coming Sunday (19th July).

Many thanks in advance for your feedback.

Keep cycling!

Best regards
John
