Report:
We set off on time fromThe Beacon carpark and all went well until Patrick sufferred a puncture entering Harwell Village. Unable to fix it he called out his wife who rescued him by car. We set off again weaved our way through Didcot and picked up the cyclepath around the back of the power station. In Sutton Courtney I took an excutive decision to modify the route and take Brook St to the cycleway rather than heading out to the bridge to Culham Lock. There was more shade, it was quieter and it was getting pretty hot.
We took drinks in the shade at Throwing Buns.
From then on no more route or plan deviations. we stopped a few times for drinks but otherwise the return leg was fairly routine.
Distance:
49.90 km (31.01 mi)
