Riders:Calum ClarkDes Higgs Glen Savegar John Groves Michael Tayler Pauline Clark Val Smith Riders = 7 Weather:![]() ![]() Report:A really fine afternoon on the bike with a great group and textbook summer weather for company. The roads seemed blissfully free of traffic today, and even the short run of A417 between Goosey and the Baulking junction remarkably quiet ! Onto Uffington, Woolstone, and the first notable climb of the afternoon to Knighton, followed by a short stretch to tea and our halfway point.Britchcombe Farm is a lovely little tea stop and a rare find in this neck of the woods. Tea was ordered and served swiftly, followed by a convivial 45 minutes or so in the garden with accompanying Bob Dylan, Queen, and Snow Patrol covers courtesy of a young acoustic busker... ![]() And so onwards...The homeward journey and an undulating mile or so to Westcot, then onto Sparsholt and Childrey where Des headed for home. One final climb from Childrey hollow onto the winding Letcombes and Wantage where we said bye to John, and then Pauline and Calum at Charlton. And then there were 3...A very pleasant final leg via Larkhill cycle track to Lockinge, another short hill (sorry!) and a well earned descent passing Laines Barn, arriving back to OMH for a little before 5.00 pm. A warm welcome to Pauline on her first ride out with CTC Wantage! Thanks everyone! Glen S | ||
