Description:

Now that everyone is so fit, the time has come for a nice leg stretcher - we go out to the Letcombes, up Hackpen Hill and then carry on for a mile or so before looping back across the beautiful Seven Barrows road to the top of Blowingstone Hill. A dramatic swoop down, with a very definite stop at the B road cross-roads at the bottom. Then we will make our way home via well trodden/tyred routing down Kingston Lisle Hill, Goosey and Denchworth. This is a route that always feels like there is more downhill than uphill. Logically impossible but let's go with it!

A cooler evening - just right for a hillier ride. It was great to welcome Patrick on his first ride. Also it was Paul's first 2* ride after a taster of 1* last week.

A good group stayed together well and even the big climb of Hackpen Hill was dealt with very easily. We had a minor mechanical to deal with on the descent towards Lambourne, but the group coped well with the undulations of Seven Barrows and the big double descent of Blowingstone Hill and Kingston Lisle Hill.

A nice evening in great company!
