Description:Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. This week, not to be denied, we will tackle the route originally planned for 31st May, which was washed out due to torrential rain.A loop to Stanford in the Vale. Out via Denchworth, before moving on to Charney Bassett, before curling round via Gainfield to Stanford. Return via Park Lane and Asti Stud. Total of about 14 miles. Pub night tonight, so optional stop at The Fox in Denchworth at the end of the ride. |

Report:A fairly select little gathering tonight, and welcome again to Jules.After mixed weather, the rain held off, except for the last quarter mile back in Grove. A nice relaxed pace all round - if anything moving a little above the designated speed - due to over enthusiasm of ride leader plus some gentle down hill stretches(!) Steve S did a stirling job of back marker - supporting Jules. On arriving back at Denchworth, the Swanton clan turned in for the pub and food, the rest of us back to Grove - just making it as the rain came in..... Oh yes, the leader then drove back to the pub (no surprise there then...) | ||
