Description:An old favourite. Heading north for an arc round Witney and dipping our cleats into the Windrush and Evenload valleys. A mix of small country lanes and some larger roads where we can stretch our legs. A few hills as we flirt with the fringes of the Cotswolds – plus the climb from Tadpole Bridge to Buckland – but nothing serious. Two small sections of bridle path. Tea stop at Aston Pottery. 78.4km. Back c. 5.30Route: Grove, Denchworth, West Hanney, Southmoor, Appleton, Cumnor, Farmoor, Swinford Bridge, Enysham, Cuckoo Lane, East End, Ashford Bridge, Wilcote, Delly End, Hailey, Priest Hill Lane, Crawley, Curbridge, Aston, Great Brook Lane, Tadpole Bridge, Buckland, Charney Bassett, Denchworth, Grove. |

We welcomed Andrew Small from CUK Reading. The route was enlivened by Denchworth Fete and Enysham Carnival, or was it Enysham Fete and Denchworth Carnival? Whatever. The new single-track section through the woods was a novelty and voted as “niftyâ€. Difficult to get started after the tea stop in the sun at Aston Pottery but we were soon battling Buckland Hill and upped the pace a little from there for the final sections home. Thanks to David for sweeping the ride. | ||
