Description:All-day touring ride (80-100km / 50-65 miles), lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing almost inevitable.A classic touring ride into the Cotswolds, taking in some of my favourite places: Coleshill, Eastleach, the Windrush valley, Burford and a much-frequented ford. Just over 56 miles, which we'll take at a steady pace of 12-13 mph, with a few ups and downs, primarily before lunch. In the spirit of touring, we'll have a late morning break to visit the twin churches of Eastleach, before continuing on to lunch at the Royal Oak in Burford. There's a chance to dip our wheels in the ford at Shilton and a possible café stop on the way home. To help with numbers, please could you let Steve know if you are planning to come (thanks to those who've done so already). |
