Laura and Steve Legate with their children Matthew, (who Laura informed me snoozed on the journey out), Chloe, Natasha and Rachel, as well as Cath Hopkins with Owen and Lewis who are becoming regular 1* riders. It was also lovely to welcome Jaigar Pagna Disso and her daughters Jessi and Jasielle. It was great to have so many Thursday morning regulars to support the ride, as with 20 riders in total we were able to split the group into three to include each family with a leader and sweep. We took the regular 1* route out to Denchworth leaving via the estate and Brereton Drive. Regular stops were necessary in the heat today to take on water and ensure that all riders were happy. From Denchworth we headed to Lyford and made a welcome stop under the trees outside the Church for some light snacks (Thanks Des for the sweets !) and a drink. From here we headed to Charney Basset for a stop on the green and the obligatory team photo. Des and Karl took a group who wanted to go a little faster including Natasha, Rachel , Lewis and Owen, whilst the rest of us enjoyed a more sedate ride back via Denchworth to Grove. Well done to all who braved the elements today a fantastic effort! Special mentions to Chloe who tackled the bridge unaided today both ways, to Jessie and Jasielle for completing their first club ride, and to Des Higgs for completing his 100th ride this season! | ||

Brilliant effort! I am really pleased that it was so popular despite the heatwave. Well done! |
