Description:Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly. Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). A couple of hills: Up from East Challow and then Holborn Hill from Letcombe Bassett.A shorter route than usual at 16miles owing to fading light. An unusual route out to the Letcombes owing to a closure of Ham Road. Lights required. |

With the nights drawing in the ride was shorter than usual and we were back at around 8pm.The route out as far as the top of Holborn Hill out of Letcombe Bassett was both hilly and largely against the wind. We did have a short stop at the entrance to Challow Cricket Club at top of the hill from East Challow. Those present getting a reminder that this is the venue for the AGM next month. A longer stop at the top of Holborn Hill allowed us to recover before the descents to Childrey and then down to the A417. An uneventful, and largely wind-assisted loop round the lanes from Goosey to Denchworth and then back to Grove completed the ride. Thanks to Des and Karl as sweeps. | ||
