Description:The second in the Sunday Shorties Ride series - a 2 hour ride at 3* pace.Building on Jon's trip to Uffington last week, this week's Shorty is to Uffington via Littleworth and Faringdon  . Few hills but nothing major (43km and 300m of climbing). A good chance for us to work out what is possible in 2 hours. Starting from Grove at 9am but finishing at Wantage Market Place for a coffee stop for anyone that wants one. |

This was particularly good as before 8am, the wind wasn't just howling but the rain was hammering on the windows in the dark!Relatively quickly, we were cycling in sunshine towards a rainbow, which although lovely was ominous :0. Luckily the bits of rain we did encounter weren't much of an issue and didn't last long. There was a lot of water around and some of the roads were very mucky. The wind was a real battle in some of the more exposed areas and just there for all but the return along the Springline road. 6 or so of us intended to go to Marmalade, but with it full, we all decided to say goodbye and go home to get out of our wet and muddy gear! All-in-all a great start to the new Sunday morning rides. | ||
