Report:There was a short sharp shower just before the ride, but it turned out to be a lovely dry day with no more rain and it was not too windy. We took the overlooked route over Hatford Downs to the A420. We negotiated this for a short distance and turned off to Littleworth with no problems. I warned everyone to be careful of the road surface and mud through Thrupp treacle mines. Everyone climbed the hill up into Faringdon with no problems and we all got served very quickly at the cafe, where there were already 5 other club members. After refreshments we set off for Fernham, but just after the A420 crossing we discovered we had lost Ernie. Steph and I rode back to find him, he was still in Faringdon with his bike upside down repairing a rear puncture. I decided for Steph to lead the rest back to Grove and I stayed to assist Ernie. We rode back together after the repair. Thanks to Steph for taking over the lead and thanks to everyone for a good ride and good company. | ||
