Description: Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly. Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly. Upper Bridging Ride - So a ascent of Chain Hill followed by a circuit of the Downs. 38Km
Riders: Chris Bailey Clare Hazell James Bosley Jane John Jerry Bird Jo Little Joanna Houlston Nicole Pethybridge Sharon Bedford Yvonne Bird Riders = 10 Report: The kind person who pre-populated this route certainly planned a hilly one! The climb up Chain Hill is never easy but it was made even more difficult on this occasion due to the headwind. Still it was worth the effort as the subsequent ride up in the Downs was lovely with some great views. Luckily the wind stayed in the same direction - which meant we were blown home. I understand at least one rider got a PR on the descent into Wantage via Manor Road. At 10 riders we might have got away with riding together but as the route did go on a few busier roads we decided it was best to split into 2 groups of 5. Many thanks to Yvonne and Jerry for leading the second group.
