Description:As a courtesy to the ride leader, we ask that you pre-book for this ride. Half day ride (60-70km / 38-45 miles), with a tea stop, riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). Likely to visit distant destinations. Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing likely. This is a pre-bookable ride.Rescheduled from 5 November. A trip to Hungerford for coffee and cake. Given the time of year we will be taking the hills at a steady pace - so please don't be put off. Should be home by 1.30pm |

Report:A cold (and somewhat dreary) start to the day didn't put us off and we set off for Hungerford with great enthusiasm.This was a hilly ride ( somewhere between 880m and 950m of climbing depending which Garmin you believe) and the consensus was that hill climbing in the cold is so much harder than on a warm sunny day. We found a great new(ish) cafe in Hungerford - Tray's Cafe in Barrs Yard (previously the Honesty). We were given a very warm welcome and even had our photos taken by the owner. We promised to spread the word! The headwind on the way back made the cycling harder - thanks go to John for sharing the lead when the going got tough. Great group and lovely route, (one to be repeated on a warmer day I think). | ||
