Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph).A ride out into the Cotswolds, parking at Lechlade Garden Centre (or riding out if you need the miles for Strava or somesuch). Numerous stopping opportunities, Northleach is probably favourite. Whilst this is a half day ride, the away day start will mean that it takes up most of the day...... I will be at the Garden Centre for 10.00 for a pre-ride coffee. |

Half an hour in the car effectively opens up the Cotswolds to us and very pleasant it was!We started with a coffee at Lechlade Garden Centre - now run by Hilliers - and, very fine coffee it was. I had apparently managed to plot a route including Northleach and Bibury, including some lanes that none of us recalled travelling. We had a short delay on the route, waiting for the local hunt to clear the road of their pack of hounds. Mid-ride coffee and snacks were taken at Lynwood & Co in Northleach - again, fine. Bibury was as busy as ever, swarming with tourists, numbers apparently swelled by at least one wedding. The weather played ball - pretty much a perfect autumnal day. The route is, I think, a 'keeper', running it in reverse may be an enhancement, putting a coffee stop at Northleach more than half way round. Thanks to all for being a great bunch to ride with. | ||
