Monthly 80-100km (50-65 miles) all-day touring ride, lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. This ride has been moved from its usual Sunday slot so that people can take part in the popular Flexicare walk on the Sunday. A trip out to Bucklebury, to the Blackbird cafe we visited last year on the mini cycle tour to Puttenham Barn. Afterwards we'll skirt round the edge of Newbury before heading along familiar roads, stopping at Priscilla's for the second cafe stop, and then returning home via Lambourn and Seven Barrows. 57 miles and 964m of climbing so a hilly ride, but spread out throughout the day. |

Riders:Barry StantonChris Bailey Jo Little Katherine Boyce Nicole Pethybridge Sharon Bedford Riders = 6 Weather:![]() Report:The day started off cloudy and cold but the many hills on the way to Bucklebury soon warmed us up. NIcole met us at Hampstead Norreys. We stopped at The Blackbird cafe just outside Bucklebury, where we were able to enjoy either breakfast or cake in the sunshine. We then skirted past Newbury and went to Priscilla's for lunch/cake, depending on everyone's preference. Nicole left us here to go back to Newbury while the rest of us returned to Wantage via Lambourn and Seven Barrows.Plenty of climbing throughout the day but the sunshine and the views made it a successful ride. Thanks to everyone for your company. | ||
