Report:Four of us set off from Wantage Market Place on a warm & cloudy morning. Swapping the ride to this morning was certainly the correct thing to do. As we reached the Letcombe’s Andy warned me of the Red Kite that likes to attack walkers & cyclists. We nervously approached the area where the Red Kite haunts fortunately the coast was clear. We made our way up to Hackpen where the view from the top was rather hazy. From that point we enjoyed the ups & downs of the beautiful countryside, through to the market town of Hungerford, where we all enjoyed an amazing tea stop at Eliane of Hungerford. Once refreshed, we all set off across Hungerford Common, which is an amazing place for cycling. We passed over the Kennett & Avon Canal, which was fairly busy with narrow boats. Just before Boxford, the ride leader suffered a rear puncture. The second in two weeks This was soon fixed & we made our way towards the decent of the day, the mighty Chain Hill. Where we all enjoyed the wonderful decent back down to Wantage. Thanks to everyone for your company. A really nice group to lead | ||
