Warners' 2nd dry ride in two weeks! A pleasant ride over some humps. We stayed together until the top of Hackpen Hill. (Dont argue, read the OS map, the farm is Sincombe the hill Hackpen!) Ginny then took those who wanted to go a bit further on the Lambourne, Ashbury extention and the rest of us ambled up seven barrows and on to Hatford. An unlucky puncture at the junction with the A417 allowed the faster group to arrive at Hatford first, eat all the scones and sabotage the tea urn. Elain your cake and tea recovery needs to be passed to Floyd Landis and cleared by the UCI. Joking aside we had a trad English tea at a village fete that had all you would expect including the worlds longest raffle. I think the locals would have canned it long before had there not been 20 cyclists with tickets hungering for prizes. Ginny led the first group home while a handful of backmarkers held everyones tickets in the draw. Rob Shaw you won some biscuits! I have them and will not eat them! All in all a pleasant afternoon, Eve good to see you getting your riding legs back. Welcome to Tatiana - hope you enjoyed the afternoon. | ||
