Description:Sociable rides of 24km - 40km (15-25 miles) at a pace of 18km - 20km (11-13 miles) per hour, usually with a café stop. During school holidays there will be shorter family rides of 16km - 24km (10-15 miles) at a slower pace. Please check website on the morning of the ride if the weather is poor as the ride may be cancelled or the start time changed.A ride to Appleton Community Shop for coffee and refreshments. Report:It was perfect weather for cycling but it was not a good start as the car drivers had to park at the shops as there were no spaces at OMH. We set off at a brisk pace via Denchworth, Asti Stud, Charney, across the A420, Longworth and finally coffee at Appleton. Two nice ladies were just leaving and gave up the picnic table to us as seating is very limited outside the community shop. We were joined by the 1* group after a few minutes so we all had a good chat about Boris!My 2* group left first taking a route through Fyfield Wick and down the old road to Southmoor. Unfortunately the farmer had locked a gate further down the route but we managed to climb over and lift the bikes over (team work!) The Southmoor to Hanney road was good with the wind behind us. Then we returned to Grove via Denchworth. A very good ride with good company. Thank you Des | ||
