Report:
Well, blow me, finally, a spring day that felt like spring!
We went via Appleton and Cumnor, up through Old Boar's Hill - passing the usual viewpoint of the Dreaming Spires, and down Bayworth Hill. This is rough at the top, demanding caution but has been surfaced further down.
We negotiated Radley Lakes and the riverside route into Abingdon, without having to resort to poking out mud from frames!
Abingdon market square was like a continental venue, full of people sat in the sunshine, enjoying coffee from the many cafés around the square. Java Café was well up to the mark.
We returned home via the river road and Peep-O-Day Lane, suffering the appalling resurfacing work done through Steventon and the Hanney road.
Thanks to Des and Karl for sweeping, a great group and the weather!
Distance:
61.20 km (38.03 mi)
