Daytime 2* Thursday Ride 2*
Leader:
Roger Postbeschild
Start Time:
9:30 am
Start Location:
OMH
Description:
Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Sociable ride of 24-40 km (15-25 miles) at a pace of 18-20km/h (11-13 mph).
An early chance to eat a mince pie (bring your own, I am afraid) on top of the White Horse Hill. Coffee will then be taken at Baking Bee in Ashbury before returning via Uffington and Fawler Hill.
Please note, this is a distinctly hilly ride for a Thursday. Routes are limited due to the closure of Denchworth Road!
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE EARLIER START TIME AS I HAVE TO DO A HOSPITAL RUN AFTER THE RIDE.
Riders:
Angie Fisher
Anke Otto
Barry Stanton
David Bridge
Des Higgs
Geoff Neill
Katherine Boyce
Louise Bowers
Pauline Clark
Roger Postbeschild
Steve Swanton
Riders = 11

Weather:
sunny intervalswindy
Report:
The weather was reasonably kind - dry, if a little breezy on the way out, and not too cold.
We collected Anke in Letcombe and met up with Des and Louise at the coffee stop at Baking Bee in Ashbury.
The hill was conquered, firstly by those with e-assistance and, shortly behind, Pauline as the first of the 'analogue' riders.
Mince pies were duly enjoyed at the top, photos taken, and we then pressed on to Ashbury.
The return trip was a little easier, with some tail wind assistance.
Apologies to all that I was not as attentive as usual in making sure that corners were marked.......I had a pressing engagement!
Happily, all were gathered in at the end.
Thanks to Steve for sweeping and to all for being a great group.
Distance:
44.00 km (27.34 mi)
