Description:A hilly-ride, due south to the foot of the Hampshire Downs via Boxford and Hampstead Marshall, exploring some unfamiliar lanes south-west of Newbury. Optional (unled) ascent of Combe Hill for those with energy to spare. Lunch at The Downgate in Hungerford (SU342683). Return via Lambourn. About 47 miles. |

A perfect November day to be out on the bike. 14 set off from Wantage, but we soon spread out climbing Manor Road. At which point Kev and Wen decided to make their own way to lunch. Soon after we suffered the first of 2 punctures, both of which were sorted quickly and without fuss. From the monument we climbed over to Woolley and then right to Chaddleworth, through the village and down the valley to Boxford. We then entered less familiar territory | ||
