Riders:Angie FisherAnke Otto Chris Marchant David Jackson Des Higgs Gareth Smith Roger Turnbull Val Smith Riders = 8 Report:This ride started with easy pedalling eastwards towards Hanney and then Garford. It felt like the westerly tail wind might make some of the latter parts of the route harder - but that turned out not to be the case and the cycle was not difficult. Roadworks where the lane through Garford joins the A338 blocked the slightly shorter fork onto the A338. And yes - we did cycle past the road closed sign to see if we could get through on our bikes but this was not possible. We had to make the short detour back to the other fork. The short sections on the A338 to Frilford lights and then along the A415 to Marcham passed quickly enough and then we were back to the quieter roads. Crossing the A420 via the tunnel at Tubney and then the bridge at Southmoor removed my usual rider-leader concerns whenever this busy road has to be crossed.Thank you to everyone for a great ride, to Des for sweeping and to Anke for the photo. | ||
