Leader:
Diana Whidborne
Start Time:
6:30 pm
Start Location:
OMH
Description:
Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way.
This week we are going towards Wantage turning into chartlton Road picking up Route 44 to Lockinge, through estate and down to Ardington, Lains Barn, Hanney, Denchworth.
If any body would like to stop at the Fox they can do or if you would like to go straight back to Grove i would be happy to ride back with you.

Optional sociable stop at The Fox, Denchworth after the ride.

Start Time:
6:30 pm

Description:

Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly.

This week, we will head North to Longworth via Lyford in an anti-clockwise loop around the vale and back to Denchworth in time for (optional) supper at The Fox. There will be a short stretch on both A420 and A417 so riding in groups of no more than 4 please.

Anyone not stopping at the Fox will need to make their own way back to Grove.
Report:
A very peaceful and uneventful trip around the Vale !

We welcomed new rider Lisa to the ride, which cruised along at a speed at the top end of 2*. Road works at Denchworth didn't deter the trip via Lyford and up to Southmoor but the track leading to the bridge over the A420 was cunningly concealed from the ride leader (!). No damage 0- just a red face! Some new roads for some and forgotten roads for others meant that this was a very enjoyable ride and we met up with other riders for a sociable bite at the Fox.

No rain :)

Thanks to Karen for sweeping and to Jane for buddying up with Lisa.
