Description:Out to Childrey via Stockham and East Challow, returning via Goosey (12 miles). There will be optional stop at the Fox in Denchworth towards the end of the ride. Lights required as the evenings are drawing in and if stopping at the pub for a drink or a meal.Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Our leisurely and sociable Tuesday evening 1* rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of 10-15 miles (16-24km) at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph (13-16kph), following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. Please arrive by 6.20pm for the ride leader's briefing and a prompt start to the ride. We are not always able to wait beyond the start time. |

Description:Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. 1.5-2 hour ride at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph)Village explorer Pub Night! Please arrive by 6.20pm for the ride leader's briefing and a prompt start to the ride. We are not always able to wait beyond the start time. A flat ride out to have a look at Buckland village, and back via either Pusey or Lyford (I will check out the road/bridleway through Pusey before Tuesday, my recollection is it is all very rideable on road bike except for maybe 200m where we might prefer to walk whilst admiring the view), if it isn't a good option for road bike, we will miss Pusey and instead add a bit on through Lyford to get the same distance. Led ride will finish at the Fox in Denchworth, for those wanting refreshment at the end of the ride. |

Riders:Angie FisherChris Marchant Des Higgs Huw Palmer Jan McCabe LeeAnn Norris Paul Kyberd Roger Postbeschild Riders = 8 Weather: Report:9* of us enjoyed pleasant evening weather for a flat ride around the Vale Villages, out via Denchworth, Goosey, Stanford and Gainfield to Buckland, where we did a circuit of the village to admire some of the lovely buildings you don't see on the normal route through, we discussed options for the route back, and decided rather than take the path bridleway through Pusey we would stick to the tarmac, so returned retracing our tracks to gainfield, then via Charney Basset and Lyford, before returning to Denchworth, where several (including me) stoped to enjoy traditional last Tuesday of the month post ride refreshmentJan * the 8 riders listed, and Bernie, who isn't currently on our rider list | ||

Definitely a season record for a Tuesday evening ride. Therefore grateful thanks to Sharon and Katherine for leading groups 2 and 3 on our nice simple loop around the Vale.It was also great to welcome Jess with her son Rupert, visiting from Leicestershire. Rupert is aged 9 but already an experienced and very fit cyclist. I suspect a name to watch out for in years to come! A good number stayed on at the Fox for chat and great food and drinks (also with the bonus of seeing some peacock chicks in the garden). Thanks to all for a glorious Vale evening. | ||

Description:RIDE CANCELLED - Not enough riders - Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 15 miles. Knobbly tyres required and good lights when it gets dark (‘get you home’ lights in Spring/Autumn). We are keen to welcome new riders and can make recommendations or have spare lights to borrow if you let us know. Dark, cold and wet - we’ll ride in any two. But please let us know if you are coming so we can tell you if we decide to cancel due to bad weather or other reasons.Pub Night!
