Description:A ride out to Harwell Campus to the Harwell memorial stone, where the first aircraft took off for the D-Day operation. Coffee at the Lightbox Cafe. Out via Kingsgrove, Ardington and the Icknield Greenway, return by Ginge, Lockinge and Lains Barn. Expect rough tracks, gravel and potholes!Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Sociable ride of 24-40 km (15-25 miles) at a pace of 18-20km/h (11-13 mph). |

We loosely followed Lorna's D Day route to Harwell for coffee and then went on to visit the memorial, great timing as Karl had a puncture so as the 1* group arrived, we went and saw the memorial whilst Karl and Des fixed the puncture. We then headed back via the cycle path, onto Ginge, and home via Laines Barn. A very enjoyable morning, thanks all for the company. Some of us then had a social coffee at Costa in Grove and were joined by Barry Stanton and David Bridge. | ||
