Riders:Andy BelcherCarin Tranter John Stamp John Tranter Lorna Swanton Sarah Macaulay Steve Swanton Susan Holdroyd Tim Hoyle Tim Waite Riders = 10 Weather:![]() Report:A few unexpected comings and goings this morning: John S’s brake cable snapped, right at the start, so he couldn’t set off with us, but Tim H did, opting for a gentler ride after taking a tumble on his way to Grove. Six of us started from Old Mill Hall, picking up 3 more riders (by arrangement) along the wiggly route through Stockham and Naldertown. In Letcombe Bassett we encountered a very nervous horse and had to pull in while his two handlers coaxed him past. He'd been spooked by a cyclist going past at speed the day before, they said. We were much kinder!Everyone succeeded in pedalling up Holborn Hill, even the people who’d said they were out of practice, and we enjoyed views over the downs before dropping down to Childrey for coffee. Who should join us there but John S, who’d managed to source a new brake cable, fit it AND catch up – most impressive! Susan had to get back and left the ride after coffee, leaving nine of us to descend to Goosey. At Denchworth we said goodbye to Sarah and Tim, then returned to Grove. What a pleasure to be out in the fresh air, with spring blossom all round! Thanks everyone, for your company.

Riders:Barry StantonChris Marchant David Bridge Des Higgs John Groves Katherine Boyce Louise Bowers Pauline Clark Roger Turnbull Stephanie Haddrell Terry Ryland Riders = 11 Report:Whilst the sun was not shining, the weather was fine and wind minimal so perfect for a Thursday ride! We took the planned route out via Denchworth, Goosey, Baulking, and Fernham crossing the A420 via the new cycle crossing. We then passed the Faringdon Academy and took the Highworth road to Badbury Clumps, and as we approached the sun peeped through. Those who appreciate a floral spectacle enjoyed the Bluebells and took some photos whilst the others contemplated what they would have for coffee!Kath headed off at this point to visit a Friend and we headed down past the Great Barn at Great Coxwell before riding into Faringdon for coffee and cake. Des having ridden to Grove went home, and the rest of us enjoyed a chat and some refreshments to fuel our journey home. The return was via the usual route to Hatford and Charney Bassett and back to Grove via Denchworth. A lovely morning great company and some super scenery! Thanks for the company.
