Six of us did the 5 mile ride joined by a Columbian gentleman and his son. He enjoyed so much that we ended up doing 10. 16 riders undertook the 15 mile ride.Lou acted as backup and Mavis's american friend Shirley(?) very kindly acted as administrator for us, holding the fort (or the Hall) while we were out on the road. | ||

Some of us enjoyed plunginmg through the Ford at Shilton (to the alarm of the girls who were playing in the water nearby). Lunch at Royal Oak and then back via Minster Lovell, Bampton and Buckland to Stanford in the Vale, where we stopped off for half an hour at the fete. The shop had sold out of ice creams! Jan, Laurent and Ed were doing a stirling job with their cycling stand using some of our library diplay posters and a selection of Roberts bikes. An excellent day. | ||

Report:Despite rain before the ride, it held off. We were met at the Pub by Suzanne Kelsey of the Wantage & Grove review who took our picture on the centre of the bridge (which later appeared in the paper). 4 from West Oxon made it before we left. Neil was rather slow up Buckland Hill - 3 pints could have had something to do with it. | ||
