Regular Saturday Ride from Grove

Leader: Diane Stuckey	Start Time: 1:00 pm	Start Location: GMS
Description: Regular Saturday ride of approx 47kms with tea stop, 2 leaders to provide shorter/longer options depending on riders if necessary. Route will be from Grove to Goosey, Kingston Lisle, Uffington and Tea at Portwell House in Farringdon. Back to Grove via Thrupp, Littleworth and Hatford.
Riders: Brian Hipwell Brigitte Hickman Cath Brazier Catherine Hickman David Hibbard Des Higgs Diane Stuckey Edith Hipwell Ginny Henderson Heather Harwood Kevin Fairs Kevin Hickman Mavis Rose Nigel Stuckey Rex Belcher Richard Divall Robert Wyatt Stephen Quartermain Steve Swanton Teresa Belcher Tom Millar Wenfeng Yang Riders = 22 Report: Twenty two riders left Grove on a sunny day with light winds at first. As usual to Denchworth, then Goosey and up the hill to Kingston Lisle. Steve S left to attend a wedding! One brave soul did Blowingstone, dropping back down to meet the group at Uffington. Through Fernham to the tea stop at Portwell House in Faringdon. Nice for a change and we were well looked after. Tom liked the biscuits! A few riders left on a different route to their homes. Off again in a northerly loop on the Witney road and then southwards back to Littleworth, across the A420 to Hartford, Gainfield, Charney Bassett, Denchworth again and back to Grove. 52 km for the day. Regular Tuesday Evening Ride

Description: Depending on numbers there will be fast or slower and gentler options with two ride leaders
Riders: Amanda Seddon Chris Walters Edith Hipwell Ginny Henderson Jan McCabe Jo Bindloss-Gibb Neil Warner Philip Thornton-Evison Sean OSullivan Sid Liddiard Stephen Quartermain Steve Swanton Riders = 12 Report: All started together, down Lains Barn, And through to Lockinge and Ginge, where we split into 2 groups, Chris, Sid and I avoided the tracks, and went upto the main road, and on to Steventon, we decided that rather than wait for the others, we would carry on, and make the most of the daylight, so proceded to Hanney and continued to Denchworth before returning to Grove. On arrival we noticed Jo's car had disappeared so assumed the others had beaten us back, later discovered that the main group had somehow lost Jo and Phillip as they took the tracks towards Hendred, after waiting for a while, and retracing steps, the group continued as planned, taking in some bridleways around Steventon, to arrive back at Grove just after I'd departed! Regular Tuesday Evening Ride

Description: This is the last Tuesday Evening Ride of the Season. Depending on numbers there will be fast or slower and gentler options with two ride leaders
Riders: Brian Hipwell Chris Walters David Bridge Diane Stuckey Edith Hipwell Geoff Neill Ginny Henderson Philip Thornton-Evison Sid Liddiard Stephen Quartermain Riders = 10 Report: Steve took the lead and due to the evenings getting darker he had planned a shorter ride. We went around the back of Grove and across the airfield to Wantage. Up the B4507 and through the Letcombes. Ginny and Philip on arriving at the bottom of Hackpen decided to do a quick trip halfway up and then back again. Some waited for them, while the slower ones in the group carried on so as to get back in time. We proceeded on through Childrey then right onto the A417 and home back through Denchworth. This was the last Tuesday ride of the year, roll on winter so we can start the new 2006 Tuesday rides.
