Report:
An excellent sunny start and fast ride to Witney where we joined the West Oxon ride. Laurent provided chocolates and fizz - although I hink everyone had overindulged already! Lunch at The Eight Bells in Eaton, after which we split to find our respective homes. I covered 48 miles, not sure about the rest. Kev.

Report:
14 starters, including new boy Phil at a reasonable pace to the Pottery at Aston for Tea. As is my want I only allowed two minute breathers when the tail enders caught up, so the rest of us didn't get cold!

Aston Pottery did a marvelous job of cramming in 13 (as Brian had left), although I had phoned the day before to order extra cakes. Much discussion of Audax, Christmas dinner and the Project Colmar.

Barbara and Mary departed after tea to make their way back to Witney, which reduced the pressure on the rest of us to ride fast.

Tackling the backroads from Aston to Tadpole bridge proved wet, as the road was in flood. Some of us pushed through the first section, only to see we were not being followed. A quick phone call to find out Steve S was putting on his overshoes (waste of time Steve, my knees got wet! (but mine didn't - Steve)), and Des and Robert turned to go the other way (We know how to sort the men from the boys).

Steve B did his bit by pushing two bikes and carrying Jane, and at the end we were all cold and wet, so we cut a quick dash back to Grove.

It was damn cold but some of us did 16 miles or so in a wide sweep through Goosey and the Letcombes to arrive at the Volunteer where it turned out they dont do food on a Thursday evening.

They did do a couple of bowls of chips for free though, and the beer was good.

Honourable mention to Steve S for turning up five minutes after we left.

Report:
Turned up in Wantage could see snow on top of Ridgeway, it did seem nobody would want to do me ride. 9 riders, 2 extras for lunch.

When we met everyone seemed keen even while we were standing in shoe shop lobby sheltering from the rain.

As we got to the top of chain hill the snow was starting to settle very pretty.

The ride to Goring was very hilly which kept us all quite wary.

The highlight for me was Streetley Hill which I was warned about, but caught me out when I found my brakes wouldn't stop me, It was good to see Steve and Jane carry the first aid kit - thanks!

Stopped at the Catherine Wheel for Lunch. Jane then joined us for the return leg whilst Kevin F took Janes car with strict instructions!

We had a breakdown comming out of Goring when Jane P had a chain link sieze, fortunately Neil had his tool handy, learnt a valuable lesson about mobiiles - keep mine switched on! Did not get teh distress call quick enough. So we had to split for several minutes until Neil had fixed Janes stiff link.

I think everyone enjoyed the ride, Jane was concerned when she saw her car overtake her at great speed.

A very enjoyable evening of musical chairs! The food was good too, except for the creme brulee! Definitely a pub to go back to as we were able to sit together on one table in very pleasant surroundings.

Kevin T excelled himself with providing live music for no extra charge.
