Brian lead the ride with fifteen riders we headed out of Grove at a fast pace, thuogh Denchworth,Charney Bassett,Gainfield,Hatford right at the church and climbed up to the A420,Right using the small back road to Littleworth.
We made our way across country to Clanfield were Richard and Alvaro Turned right and headed for Bramton and on into Aston pottery for tea.The remaining 13 with Brian leading headed for Brize Norton and Carterton where we stopped to view the cycle shop although no one went into buy.We then made tracks towards Witney turning off for Aston pottery where tea tea and cakes were most welcome.while sitting enjoying our tea we viewed a man with a parrot sitting on his shoulder, however both arms were intact the conclusion was that it was not Long John Silver. We headed back for Wantage and achieved a 40 mile ride that was most enjoyable. Footnote I was sweeper but still got to write the report.

The evening turned sunny after a rainy day 17 rider setout from Grove heading towards Wantage. One rider was lost before entering Wantage Gabbrini retired with a punchture. We headed towards Ardington using the track by the Nelson pub, which was just a little bit wet.we headed out of Ardington past Betterton House and down into West Hendred the group became broken into three rides all heading in the same direction but at different speed. Although it was only a short ride it was enjoyable and a little bit challenging for some of the group.

4 riders set off from Grove on a mild but overcast evening for a fast ride to Pusey and Longworth, where we descended the hill to visit the ford at Duxford (the only remaining ford on the Thames). The ford was too deep and fast flowing to cross this evening, but perhaps later in the summer???

Report:
Despite earlier showers a very pleasant evening. We headed out through Denchworth and West Challow and then via Childrey dip towards Letcombe. Kev riding fixed for the first time. Disaster struck when June's chain broke and then became entangled in her wheel, bending her derailleur stay. She managed to 'scooter' from the bottom of Hackpen Hill to Letcombe, guided by Brian and myself. Just as we reached Holborn Hill, Steve B. returned breathless with a chaintool after a mad dash to catch up with Edith, who had the tools (is there a moral there?). After several attempts we managed to fix a single gear repair and June was able to cycle home. Meanwhile Edith took half of the remaining group up Court Hill. Hope they enjoyed the descent!

Leader:
Laurent Chambard
Start Time:

Start Location:

Description:
Ride to the Highworth/Lechlade area, with lunch somewhere between Highworth and Lechlade. Way there along the B road from Wantage undulating alongside the Lambourn downs (with climb up White Horse Hill on the programme, depending on the mood of the crowd - Shame to visit this place only the Sunday before Xmas!), then lanes up to the pub. Lanes again in the afternoon up to around Faringdon and then gentle back through the Vale. Around 50/55 miles expected.

Report:
Only four of us, including new member David Martinez (citizen of Catalunya, one more in the array of nationalities within the Section!) set off in sunny weather at about 10h10 alongside the slopes of the B4507. David proved to be a worthy successor of these legendary Spanish climbers of the past as he blew us up White Horse Hill where we were greeted with views to make us ashamed of turning up there only once a year and just before X-mas! The route then continued to roll uneventfully to the pub where we were spot on time for lunch.
The afternoon allowed Kevin to make some mental notes possibly helpful for his next years

Report:
Four hardy riders risked the chance of rain, only for us to have to wait for 20 minutes in the Square for the teeming hail to subside.

Once the hail and rain had subsided somewhat we started down to Letcombe taking the bridleway that joins Windmill Hill to Sincombe Hill. This proved to be fun, especially for those with virtually slick tyres.

A turn off to the left brought us close to Gramp's Hill. After an enjoyable climb to the top of Gramp's we carried on for about two hours exploring tracks around the Lambourn road and the Ridgeway.

A fast finish down Manor Road back to Wantage centre finished off a really enjoyable off-road ride.

6 of us assembled in Broad Street for the start of the ride. As we headed east over Magdalen Bridge leaden skies loomed ahead, causing John to turn for home at the ring road (fair-weather cycling or wot?)! But somehow, we managed to skirt the shower and were soon enjoying the views on our way to Cuddlesdon (nice to be in what was unfamiliar territory for me). Within a few miles of Nottcutts the heavens opened for five minutes, but we had already started to dry off before our 11ses stop. After a longish sojourn over buns and teacakes we cycled the mile or so up to the arboretum, which was ablaze with flowering rhodedendrons and azaleas. Dodging the showers under the trees we found an empty marquee with tables and chairs - ideal for our picnic. Thereafter, the day brightened up, the sun shone intermittently and the peacocks treated us to a wonderful display of their iridescent plumage. After completing the
