Regular Saturday Ride from Grove

Leader: Des Higgs	Start Time: 1:00 pm	Start Location: GMS
Description: 40 to 50km ride with tea stop. Two leaders for faster or slower rides. Lights recommended.
Riders: Brian Hipwell Christine Phillips Derek Boutle Des Higgs Diane Stuckey Edith Hipwell Ginny Henderson Neil Warner Nigel Stuckey Philip Thornton-Evison Richard Divall Richard Page Robert Wyatt Teresa Belcher Riders = 14 Report: Led by Des, the Western Flyer, fourteen riders left Grove under gloomy skies in calmish but sub zero weather. Derek was the sweep. First visit to Denchworth, then through Charney B, Hatford and Fernham, the group keeping together remarkably well. Neil stopped for some rubber refurbishment and Des led a faster group, with Edith taking the rest, to the tea stop at Sudbury House Hotel (Best Western) in Faringdon. Really excellent facilities, tea and cake at a reasonable price, it gets 10/10 from your scribe as a winter cycle tea stop. Section Pub Night

Description: A ride to the 'The Plough' at Hanney for a meal, a pint and a chat with good company. Alternatively meet us at the pub at 20:00. Lights required.

Richard led myself and David on an enjoyable loop around Wantage, through Lockinge and past Lains Barn, to get to the Plough at Hanney, where we were joined by the others for food and drinks. Inaugural West Oxon Afternoon Ride

Description: Meet outside St Mary's Church, Church Green, Witney for a leisurely 25-35 mile ride to a local cafe and back.
Riders: Riders = 0 Report: An encouraging start for the West Oxon Saturday rides with 10 riders awheel on an enjoyable flat ride to Filkins Woollen Mill for tea and back. Despite the leaden skies it didn't rain. Brigitte even took us down a gated (and rutted) single-track road from Clanfield to Brodwell that I hadn't cycled before. Steve S.
