Report:
Rain between 6 and 6:30 deterred all but 8 die-hards, but then it was dry for the ride. 7 of us set off to Charney Bassett, Gainfield and Stanford where we lost Richard (or rather the call of dinner became too strong) and gained Laurent.

Report:
24, a record Saturday attendance on a lovely Saturday afternoon. The group was split in two from about the start, a faster group going through Option B (gathering with Lambourne members at Ashbury then joining the first group for tea ), the core group going through Option A.
Route details: there were two routes. Option A is flat and short (28 miles approximately). Option B contains one serious hill (Compton Beauchamp) and some few smaller bits of hill, and is longer (36 miles estimated).
Both options:
Grove MS, Denchworth, Lyford, Charney Bassett up to B4508 where left.
B4508 through Hatford, X-road with A417, Shellingford, Fernham, Longcot.
Option A:
Straight on from Longcot to Shrivenham on lane, and teastop at Shrivenham (Barrington Arms pub).
Option B:
From Longcot, left towards Compton Beauchamp. Right on X-road with B4507 on top of the hill, through Ashbury.
Straight on at X-road with B4000 through Idstone and Bishopstone.
At Bishopstone, at the phone box, take right (beware: steep corner), and straight on into Bourton then Shrivenham. Teastop in Shrivenham, same place and timing as Option A above.
Both options:
After the tea, take B4508 direction Longcot. At Longcot take right direction Uffington. Go through Uffington, and then left direction Baulking. Straight on through Baulking up to X-road with A417.
Right on A417 and first left to Goosey, then Denchworth, then Grove.

Report:
A very good turn out (19) with lots of new faces including Nicky, Lynda, Dale and Graham. The ride split at Lyford with Edith taking those whose chose a shorter route. The rest followed Jane (which isn't always wise but Steve S put her right!) passed the pig farm and up to Kingston Bagpuize and back down to Charney Basset, Denchworth and Grove. Young William and James wanted to do the 16 miler so their Dads had to come to. Arrived back at Grove quite late but most were prepared and had lights.

Thunder and lightning, very, very frightening, or something like that. Today confirmed that you do not need to be mad to cycle but it does help. We 18 set out on a pleasant and warm evening although there were ominous signs in the sky Brian was convinced that it would only be spots. However, by the time we got to Childrey, the heavens opened and it rained, a real storm, thunder and lightning the lot!

Enough to make a Frenchman swear, in all Laurent

21 riders on a glorious sunny evening for a leisurely 16 mile ride to Southmoor via Hanney and return via Charney Bassett.

Dale had a new bike (but was still the slowest). It was good to meet newcomers Glen and Richard and welcome back Daniel and Val.

Laurent met us at the end, showing off his new red lightweight Orbit...

To Northmoor via Charney & Pusey, only to find the pub packed with little chance of food. So after a swift pint made a hastly retreat to the Rose Revived. Guess West Oxon stayed at the Red Lion as we didnt see them.
