Report:
It was a good turn out of riders for this moderate pace ride. We all kept up a good pace and averaged approx 13 miles an hour to the tea stop at Bampton - arriving there at 3pm. This seemed quite fast as we appeared to be against the wind most of the way and I took us on an unexpected detour through Uffington which was not on my planned route instead of turning right just after Baulking. I must learn to map read!! The route to the tea stop was reasonably flat also.

Derek met the group on route near Kelsmcott and joined us for tea at the Bampton Coffee shop. The service in this cafe, which was new to me, was very good and the owner even gave each of us a piece of real turkish delight.

Two thirds of the mileage had been covered prior to the teastop and therefore it was quite a pleasant run back to Grove afterwards with only the hill just after Tadpole bridge to slow us up. Even the weather was reasonably fair to us with only a small shower near Lechlade. We arrived back at Grove at 5pm.

Also joining us on the ride was Rob Sutton, a guest of Sorrel's, from Bristol.

Moderate ride out through Lains Barn to Ginge, West Hendred, Steventon, the Hanneys, Denchworth and finally back to Grove. A moderate pace throughout (well done everyone for sticking on, especially Lee) and a couple of spirited efforts - Neil flew across Cow Common (the turbo sessions seem to have worked!) and we had a bit of a charge for a few yards to the 30mph sign in Grove. 31km in 1:34 for an average speed of nearly 20km/h. A great start to the season, and well done everyone!

The easy rider went back to our roots we managed a 10 mile ride around the Vale at an average speed of 10 miles an hour. We started well but as we turned into the wind young Joseph found it hard going and it became quite cold. However it was nice to be back out on our bikes in the evening sunshine.

A rather wet and windy day for a ride along the Ridgeway but dedicated off riders may find it ideal. We climbed up on to the Ridgeway at Scutchamer Knob riding along to a stiff easterly wind. Then left decending pass Hadcott Down to West Ilsley and through the village to take a left up pass Starweall farm.
Through a wooded area and some muddy bits on to the water tower at Farnborough. Up and over Chain gang hill and down one of the best descents around pass Goddards Barn to Wets Locking.

A fantastic morning ride which started a little misty but no sign of rain.

We started from Wantage and then headed out to Chilton via Lockinge, the Hendreds, Rowstock and Harwell. We then joined the A417 through Blewbury and up to Ashton Tirrold with none of the threatened head wind.

We then wound our way through South and North Moreton to Brightwell cum Sotwell and then took the road to Wittenhams (sneaky hill, sorry!).

Onwards to Clifton Hampden, Culham, Sutton Courtenay, Drayton and Steventon to our lunch destination in West Hanney at 12pm where we were joined by Richard.

The Plough couldn't have been more accomodating with the excellent food and hospitality - definitely a bike friendly pub.

55km in total

A very warm spring evening moderate ride out to Frilford and Hinton Waldrist and then back through Pusey, Stanford and Denchworth. The whole group worked well together and kept up a very consistent pace. Hardly any traffic passed us throughout the whole journey and a warm welcome to Paul Sanders who joined us on the route from Grove (hope to see you again soon!).

Description:
An easy paced, sociable ride 45-50km with tea stop. The route will be from Grove to Faringdon and back via Charney Bassett, Hatfield, Thrupp, Fernham and Stanford. Depending on the group we will either have tea in Faringdon or at the Cornerstone Cafe on our return to Grove.

Report:
A ride towards the spritely end of easy, but enjoyed by all. We headed out to Denchworth and Charney Bassett and then along to Hatford. The road from Hatford to the A420 was a little busy with cars, but still the perfect rolling road where not too much effort was required.
A short stint on the A420 and then through Littleworth and Thrupp to Faringdon.

Onwards to Fernham with a quick consensus to lenghten the ride as long as we were back into Grove before the Cornerstone Cafe closed, so we went from Fernham through to Shellingford, back to Hatford and then into the wind to Charney Bassett, Denchworth and Grove.

As ever, the Cornerstone Cafe were most accomodating (especially as they thought they were going to close early!) for well deserved tea and cake (and the biggest scones you have ever seen.)

45km in total over 2hours and 20 minutes.
