The route there was fairly uneventful with everyone just enjoying the glorious winter sunshine. We arrived at the Cafe stop at approx 2.45pm and stayed there until about 3.30pm. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful cakes that the cafe has to offer plus the the free coffee top ups if one was having the filter coffee. I had carefully planned the route to ensure that we did not get lost. However it did take long until I missed the left hand turn to Watchfield and sent Chris W the wrong way down a hill in the direction of Shrivenham. I must learn to read my own directions! However we got back on route to Longcot with everbody's help. "Revolting" Richard took the lead near Uffington, together with all the other revolters, and got the group back on track to Baulking. I shall have the carrot cake next time as Richard D was often off the front of the group. I think it must have been made with special carrots! We correctly followed the last part of my careful planned route through Goosey, Denchworth and back to Grove. We arrived back to Grove at about 4.45pm which was great as it was still daylight. All in all a pleasant trip to Highworth even though we went off route once or twice. Everyone's help much appreciated in getting us back on track. No punctures or mechanical failures to report, which was good. I am off to buy a sat nav. Steve Q.

Riders:Brian HipwellBrigitte Hickman Catherine Hickman Edith Hipwell Ellen Lee Helen Beane James Dawton John Holding Kevin Hickman Richard Divall Stephen Lee Steve Swanton Vera Friend Riders = 13 Report:Just 2 of us set off from the Market Place on a chilly overcast morning. We headed East along the A417 to the Hendreds before turning north to Steventon via Featherbed Lane. Our first objective was to pick up NCN route 5 at Peep-o-Day lane and follow it through Abingdon as far as Radley. Despite the cool morning, the route was busy with other cyclists, joggers and walkers, but it made for an enjoyable half-hour's gentle pedalling "traffic-free". After Radley we picked up speed through Bayworth to take the short but sharp climb onto Boar's Hill. Sadly, with time now pressing we had no time to enjoy the views from Jarn Mound. Whoosh down the hill to Wootton, then straight-on to Besselsleigh and left to Eaton and Appleton and down the A415 to Newbridge. The road into Standlake was strewn with hedge-trimmings, which we managed to negotiate without mishap.Arrived in the hall to the aroma of spices and wine. And it tasted just as good - thanks to Brigitte and Catherine. All goods: wine bottles, saucepans and all had been carried on a Yak trailer, towed by Brompton. Good to meet friends form the other sections over an enjoable picnic lunch. Brian and Edith arrived later too. After lunch Richard, Brian and Edith returned via Bampton and Buckland while I headed straight home. Thanks Reichard for an enjoyable morning. Steve S
