Report:
It was rather damp most of the day and only 3 turned up at Millbrook Sq. We decided to stick to the Vale again and leave the hills to next week. As we headed towards the rail bridge Sean's phone rang and he was called home... so then there were 2. Jan and I continued to Charney Bassett and then headed our separate ways home. Ironically, the sun came out to give a lovely late evening.

Third time lucky. After two wettish Tuesday's, a glorious day for our ascent of the Downs. The group stayed together as far as the bottom of Court Hill in Letcombe Regis where I led off 9 others on the longer ride. After a short breather at the top we enjoyed the descent to the memorial at Fawley and then climbed again to Woolley. Then right at the cross-roads and left up to Chaddleworth. For a change we carried on through the village and continued to the Boxford road. Left and then left at Nodmore Corner back to Brightwalton. As it was still glorious and everyone was game, we turned right at the B-road and then left to climb up to Farnborough. The sun was then straight in our eyese as we turned left back to the B-road. Glorious descent as ever down Chain Hill and back to Grove arriving a few minutes after the shorter ride. About 22 miles and over 300m of ascent.

Report:
It was a beautiful evening for cycling, hot and sunny. We left Grove to cycle through Denchworth and Goosey. After crossing the A417 we cycled past Baulking Grange Farm and then turned left up the hill to Kingston Lisle. A short ride along the B405 then into Uffington where we turned left to Fernham. The food was excellent but there really was too much of it and we all left feeling incredibly full. Richard never the less still managed to find room for cheese cake!! Thanks Des for a lovely evening.

Thirteen riders set off from Grove to Denchworth on a grey and somewhat windy evening with Steve Q leading. A left turn over the new bridge on to the A417 and then up towards Childrey where the ride split up. Eight riders followed Steve up Seven Acres Hill and then whizzed down Hackpen on the other side where they followed the same route as the rest of us. The remaining three riders followed me through Childrey down Holburn Hill and through the Letcombes. Up the B4507 and down the track to West Lockinge, through Lains Barn and back to Grove.

Report:
We all left together with Jan leading to make our way to West Hanney via Denchworth. As the railway bridge on the A338 was closed for repairs the traffic was much worse than usual and traffic lights had been placed over the bridge between Grove and Denchworth. The ride split at Hanney with Jan leading the faster group through Garford onto Marcham and then on to Tubney and Fyfield. The slower group led by myself went straight up crossing the A415 and the A420 to Fyfield. We both rode the same route from here cycling along to Longworth, crossing the A420 again by the bridge and then back to Grove via Southmoor and Charney Bassett. The slow group covered 30 km and arrived 'home' about 4 minutes before the faster group who covered 37 kms.
