Riders:Riders = 0Report:Weather:Fairly sunny, dry, chillyNumber of riders 17 route: Grove, Dencworth,Charney Bassett, Southmoor, Longworth, Appleton, Eaton, Wootton, Dry Sandford, Marcham, Frilford, tea stop at Millets Farm, Kingston Bagpuse, Charney Bassett, Denchworth, Grove Distance approx 29 miles The day started with a very enthusiatic new rider from Didcot, Laura, following me over to Grove (by car) for the 1pm start. We were just about ready to start when Gary turned up to join the ride.Nice to see him back. There was a slight amount of snow in the air just before we left as well and I wondered if we were in for more. Both Neil and Edith gave their new bikes a test run on this route. Neil on a new fixed gear bike. The ride ran fairly smoothly over the route above and we arrived at Millets Farm about 3pm for a welcome teastop. Bit of a shock to find that the toilets are no longer in the restaurant but to the side of the farm shop - especially when you are dying to go!! We were also met by Angela, Kevin, Tom and Wen at Millets. Derek headed for home after the teastop with Ginny leaving us just before Denchworth to head back to for Hanney. Those left arrived back at Grove at 4.30pm. The only real event that I was aware of was that I picked up a slow puncture sometime after Millets Farm. Fortunately the tyre stayed inflated enough to get me back to Grove and was soon fixed that evening. Steve Q

Riders:Des HiggsGinny Henderson Glen Savegar Jan McCabe Mavis Rose Steve Swanton Sue King Tim Martin Riders = 8 Report:A bright sunny day saw us heading westwards to Cricklade for lunch. This was a lovely ride along the foot of the Downs road to Kingston Winslow, north to Shriveham, Highworth and then out into the "flat" country through Hannington, Castle Eaton and Down Ampney. Des kept the tempo up with the aid of a tailwind and it wasn't until Mavis punctured at Latton that we had a significant rest. Just like London buses, we soon we another one over lunch, taken in the Cricklade Cafe - very good value - where Richard joined us to eat.The cycling was harder returning into the wind. From Cricklade we headed south on minor roads and then east around Swindon. We followed the B4019 through Broad Blunsdon and then turned off and out of the wind to Stanton Fitzwarren and back through Sevenhampton to Watchfield. By this time lack of winter miles was starting to tell and th offer of tea and cakes at Des's in Longcot could not be resisted. And lovely cakes they were - thanks to Chris. Refreshed we returned to Wantage by way of Gainfield, Charney Bassett and Grove. An excellent route and enjoyable ride. Thanks Des. Steve
